Albany is a historic coastal city in the south western corner of Western Australia. Situated between two mountains, Mt Melville and Mt Clarence, and bordered by a beautiful natural harbour, Princess Royal Harbour. It boasts a wide variety of attractions to suit every visitor. Albany is approximately 400 kilometres from Perth, Western Australia's capital city, and there are daily return flights and coach services.

Spend a day wandering through the City Centre and enjoy leisurely shopping, upmarket restaurants and cafes, and historic hotels. Take a look at our lovely old buildings and museums such as the Old Post Office, the Residency Museum, and the Town Hall.

Probably Albany's best loved tourist attraction is driving along Frenchmans Bay Road. This 40 kilometre return trip takes you around the harbour, and out to the spectacular coastal scenery of The Gap, The Natural Bridge, and The Blowholes. Visit the famous Whaleworld museum, and perhaps enjoying tea at the Frenchmans Bay Tearooms.

-Feeling energetic? Take a drive to the Porongurup or Stirling Mountain Ranges and climb the ever popular "Bluff Knoll". You will be taken back by unspoiled beauty of these national Parks. Adjacent to the Stirling Ranges you will find The Lily Dutch Windmill which is an authentic five story 16th Century replica Dutch Windmill. With its 22 ton cap and sails this is the largest windmills ever built in Australia.

The mill is a fully operational windmill producing stone-ground flour for The Lily Restaurant, commercial bakers and home users. Adjacent to the windmill you will find The Lily Restaurant, situated in the original re-constructed 1924 Federation style Railway Station from Gnowangerup. In Spring, the ranges are home to a stunning array of wildflowers, something not to be missed. Visit the nearby towns of Denmark and Mount Barker, which are renowned for their world class wineries. A day trip to Walpole is highly recommended, where you can experience the "Valley of the Giants" Tree Top Walk, 40 metres above ground amongst the giant Tingle trees.

Closer to home, take a Whale Watching cruise of the harbour and King George sound. You may also see dolphins and sea lions. Cruises depart daily from the "Town Jetty".

There are many excellent swimming and surfing beaches, including Middleton Beach (just five minutes from town), also Gull Rock and Nanarup beaches, about half an hours drive from Albany.

This is only a sample of the many attractions and activities Albany has to offer. You many prefer golf, cycling, diving or abseiling - it is all here. Be sure to stay long enough to take it all in.
